Tigers Educational Identity

A new Bangkok-based company soon to be launched, Tigers Educational. The professional choice  for education-related recruitment, management and training. More designs to follow.

Using tight custom typography and strong symbol, the aim was to convey professionalism with an educational feel to the typography. The 3 stripes symbolize books lying diagonally and a subtle representation of a tiger claw mark:

On a dark background, the “Tigers” text and subtext can be switched to white:

Vicious Circle Identity

Vicious Circle (VC) is a company in development. VC is a unique brand of streetwear/fightwear clothing to be launched soon.This identity was designed to be compact and strong by using the circle cut in half to make the C while also being used to encase the V in the middle:

The 2 semicircles represent the touching of gloves at the beginning of a fight, combined with the unique brush strokes gives this identity a rough ‘n’ ready style:

Pink-to-Black Typography Project

Logo Concept
The reason for choosing the name pink-to-black is because of the widely known fact that your lungs are pink when healthy, but become black and tarred from prolonged smoking. The text and color shows transition from pink to black but the arrow pointing the opposite direction signifies reversing the damage. The arrow symbolizes positive change while doubling as a recognizable identity.

Typography Design  Concept
Using typography, textures and subtle design elements, the idea is to present smoking facts without the boring factual appearance and graphic imagery that normally come packaged together. The concept relates to the theory that information presented in less fluent formats, requires more cognitive function to absorb and process (typography disfluency theory). This helps the reader/viewer to process and retain the information thus helping in communicating the message. – http://pink-to-black.com

Using Shadows + Layer Blending

Here is an example, before and after, of how you can create depth in Photoshop using dodge/burn tools on different layers… It is also a good example of how you can use opacity masks with layer blending modes to blend the logo onto the wood. For this I used my SPIRAL logo as the main subject and the following source image of a wood texture…

Muay PangPon MuayThai Training

A design created for Muay PangPon muaythai training, starting up in Bangkok, Thailand.

The objective was to create a design which appeared hand-made and to convey a feeling of “MuayThai Boran” (ancient muaythai).
The 2 symbols at each side represent the movements and prayers the fighters make on entrance into the ring:

Branding for Xlayers Graphics Design Peripherals. The company’s aim is to provide unique and advanced solutions to the PC peripherals market, aimed at designers….

The logo is supposed to appear clean-cut with geometric typeface and symbol while using 3 layered squares to resemble Layers  (as in the layers that make up
a graphic), while laid out in a way that forms the L .

I came 1st place in the US  re-design competition for BP, a competition hosted to express the feelings of the US citizens regarding the BP oil-spill. Click here to view contest:  http://www.logomyway.com/contestView.php?contestId=1746

The concept was to use the original symbol, and apply a dirty, tar-like color palette, to give an oil-soaked appearance. Having the logo leaking oil symbolizes the current situation in the Mexican Gulf, this combined with the slogan portrays a more accurate image of  BP right now:Please Note: This is not an official logo design for BP, it is a submission for a re-design competition started by frustrated and angry residents of the US, protesting against BP. – The competition was hosted at www.logomyway.com – Custom logo design website.
